Our founder, Richard Hipkins has been protecting South Carolinians for almost 50 years. He got his start as an Offensive Lineman for the University of South Carolina where he was the starting Right Offensive Tackle on the 1969 ACC Championship team. Rather than continue professionally, he chose to go into business. After working in corporate insurance and outside sales for many years, Rick realized that he could offer clients

accessible and personable insurance. He wanted a company where people knew what they were getting and who they were getting it from – and so began Hipkins Insurance. Founded in 1988, Hipkins Insurance and has had the pleasure of serving South Carolinians for 31 years. The Hipkins family owns and operates their offices and takes pride in serving their customers as well as their community.
